On the record: Girard Board of Education

WHAT: Girard Board of education meeting Oct. 22

PRESENT: Joe Caster, Vince Ragozine, Tammy King, Scott Strain and Wes Steiner

The board:

* Accepted the retirement resignation of Nicholas Cochran as athletic/ activities director after 30 years effective Dec. 31.

* Approved Joseph Asente as head speech and debate coach and Carey Brookhart as assistant speech and debate coach.

* Approved the high school band trip to Universal Studios in Florida Feb. 11-14.

* Approved the use of the intermediate/ elementary gymnasium for indoor soccer Nov. 7 to Dec. 5.
