WHAT: October Board of Education meeting
PRESENT: Walter Baber, Kristin Fox, Joseph Fuline, Robert Noble and Ron Shives
The board:
* Approved the financial report and investments for the month of September, 2026.
* Accepted a donation of $2,500 from Michael Klacik to the Struthers High School band program.
* Accepted donations to the elementary school from Kelly Ryan and Fit Body Boot Camp, both for school supplies.
* Approved medical leaves of absence for several employees under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
* Approved administrator Craig Rodik as a credentialed evaluator.
* Accepted the letter of retirement from Theresa Laczko, Title 1 reading specialist.
* Approved a $3,000 stipend for Ciera Miller for WEB paid by Title IV funds.
* Approved a $3,000 stipend for LINK paid by Title IV funds to be split between Jennifer Monus and Richard Basile.
* Approved the appointment of the following personnel to the position of after-school intervention specialist at the middle school: Jacob Adams, Jenna Agnone, Floyd Cracraft, Jaclyn Kuntz and William McSuley.
* Approved the appointment of the following personnel to the position of after-school intervention specialist at the high school: Kevin Dailey, social studies; Sophia Yargo, English; Kate Coppola, math; and Tyler Drass, science.
* Approved the facility use request for Kristies Dance Studio’s Christmas Show at the middle school auditorium on Nov. 29.
* Approved the facility use request for Struthers Hardhats Championship at the Struthers football stadium Nov. 1.
* Approved the facility use request for Burnside Boxing Feb. 27 at the Struthers Memorial Fieldhouse.
