WHAT: Board of education meeting Sept. 24
PRESENT: Joe Castor, Zachary Steiner, Vince Ragozine, Tammy King and Scott Strain
The board:
* Accepted the retirement resignation effective June 1 for Wendy DiBernardi, an elementary school teacher with 41 years in the district.
* Accepted the retirement resignation of Mike Dunlap as maintenance/custodial grounds effective Dec. 31 after 37 years in the district.
* Accepted the retirement of Pamela Baker, a school counselor with 28 years in the district, effective June 1.
* Approved $125 per game for emergency medical technicians at football games.
* Approved RGG for snow removal services.
* Approved the baseball team competing in Tennessee March 30 to April 3 as part of a state travel request.
* Approved an independent contractor agreement between Girard schools and the services for bilingual English and Spanish special education evaluation services.
* Received a $65,000 grant for Expanding Opportunities for Each Child, which was an increase from the previous amount of $36,000 with Title I funds set aside for the grant.
