Commissioners consider buying two vehicles for sheriff

By Staff report 1 min read

WARREN -- Two new 2026 Ford Police Interceptors are expected to be purchased at a price of $100,182 for the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office through the state purchasing program.

Trumbull County Commissioners recently approved a program scheduled to begin in 2027 that will allow the sheriff's office to purchase a new vehicle once every quarter. Under the program, the sheriff's office will receive a minimum of four cruisers a year.

"We won't be purchasing vehicles for the first two quarters next year," Shara Taylor, the county's purchasing director, said. "We are getting them discounted. We probably won't be getting that discount come January to be honest.

"We actually get almost all of the equipment for one for free for buying these two particular vehicles. It is just such a large savings."
