Boil water alert lifted
YOUNGSTOWN — The boil water advisory issued Sunday for Youngstown water customers in the city, Liberty and Boardman is lifted.
The advisory was issued after a water main break on Hubbard Road between Logan Avenue and Albert Street, which caused depressurization in a significant portion of the impacted communities, according to the water department. Water pressure was restored Monday.
At 1:51 p.m. Wednesday, the water department received results from water samples taken Monday and Tuesday from 64 locations in the advisory area. The results showed no harmful contaminants in the water.
The water is safe to drink and use as normal.
For the next few days, customers may see cloudy water at their taps caused by extra air in the distribution system, the water department states. The water is safe to drink.
