Boardman motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in Beaver Township crash
BEAVER TOWNSHIP — The Ohio State Highway Patrol ‘s Canfield Post is investigating a 9:41 a.m. Saturday crash on state Route 7 that caused a motorcyclist to be ejected and sustain serious injuries.
A highway patrol press release states that a 2024 Honda motorcycle driven by Josh Jetomo, 24, of Boardman, was traveling south on Route 7, and a 2023 Chevy Silverado being driven by Ralph Ridgeway, 87, of North Lima was traveling north on Route 7. Ridgeway tried to make a left turn into a private drive near Middletown Road, resulting in the motorcycle striking the Silverado, the release states.
A third vehicle, also traveling north on Route 7, a 2014 Subaru Forester driven by Sarah Guthrie, 32, of East Liverpool, struck the ejected motorcyclist, the release states.
Jetomo was flown by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown and was in critical condition, the 1:41 p.m. press release states. No alcohol or distracted driving are believed to be factors in the crash, the release states.
Assisting the Highway Patrol at the scene was the Beaver Township Police Department and the Beaver Township Fire and EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
