Youngstown shooting leaves 1 dead
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating a fatal Saturday shooting on the city’s South Side.
The Youngstown Police Department reported that the shooting occurred at about 4:30 p.m. in the 400 block of West Evergreen Avenue.
Prior to officers’ arrival, the male victim, whose name was not released, was taken by a private vehicle to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where he died, police said.
Youngstown police and the Mahoning County Coroner’s office are investigating.

If ruled a homicide, this would be the 24th in the city this year.
