Trumbull County to review general fund budgets through year’s end

WARREN — Trumbull County Commissioners are expected to review the general fund budgets of all the county departments next week to determine what will be needed for the departments to complete the year based on 2026 budgets assigned to them at the end of 2025. The commissioners at their weekly workshop Tuesday received an overview of 2026 budget requests from 30 county departments that added up to $82,084,057.38. Girard officials seek to improve street conditions through paving program

GIRARD — With up to $250,000 available for road projects, city council will determine which streets will be paved this year. Councilman Thomas Grumley, D-4th Ward, said at Monday’s council meeting that with a limited amount of funds and higher costs associated with road work, there may be only three to four streets paved. Boardman voters will face safety services levy in fall

BOARDMAN — Township trustees have unanimously voted to place a 2.75-mill, five-year additional tax levy on the November ballot for the exclusive use of safety services. Trustees also announced a slew of new businesses coming to the township at its meeting Monday. Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay $5.5 billion to tie up remaining lawsuits that claim its talc products caused ovarian cancer.
