Police corner burglary suspect in home

YOUNGSTOWN — Police do not often get to catch their suspects in the act, but that appears to be the case in an alleged Sunday burglary. A Youngstown police report states that after surrounding a house on Breaden Street and forcing Dashawn Harmon out at gunpoint, police had to shock him with a stun weapon when he tried one last time to avoid arrest. The report states that Harmon, 45, tried to climb out of a second-story window when police surrounded the house. He later allegedly spat at police when they arrested him. Jackson trustees deny Bailey Road rezoning application

JACKSON TOWNSHIP — Trustees denied a rezoning request Tuesday night from Terreri Joseph LLC for a land parcel of 68 acres at 1432 N. Bailey Road that was recently bought by Terreri Joseph. The application requested a zone change from Agriculture, Suburban, Estate, Residential (A-SER) to General Industrial (I-2). The Mahoning County Planning Commission approved of the zone change on July 20.
