Anniversary event features car show, animals, music on Sunday
Penguin City Brewing Co. and DOPE Cider & Wine House, 460 E. Federal St., Youngstown, will celebrate their fourth anniversary together with a Car & Bike Show fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The anniversary celebration will feature cars, motorcycles, local vendors, food, raffles, and the release of a special Penguin City x DOPE collaboration cider ale. Vehicle registration is $10, and proceeds will benefit Animal Charity of Ohio.
No Funk No Justice will perform from 1 to 4 p.m. Animal Charity will host "Meet Your Match" inside the Pollock Ballroom, where guests can meet adoptable animals and learn about adoption. Admission is $5 at the door or a donation of pet supplies for Animal Charity.
Kent-Trumbull Theatre sets auditions for 'Into the Woods'
Auditions are scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 3 and 4 at Kent State University at Trumbull Theatre, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, Champion, for the musical "Into the Woods."
Auditions for the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical are open to performers ages 14 and older (minors will need parental permission). Those auditioning should prepare 32 bars from a Sondheim song that is not from "Into the Woods." They also will read from the script and do a short dance sequence.
"Into the Woods" will open Nov. 12 and run for eight performances at Kent-Trumbull.
'American Pickers' looking for collections to explore in Ohio
The documentary series "American Pickers" is coming to Ohio in October and looking for collections to explore.
The show follows skilled pickers as they hunt for America's most valuable antiques and the stories behind them.
The show is interested in private collections and does not go to stores, flea markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public.
