.38 Special takes aim at Youngstown

.38 Special will bring its Southern rock sounds to Powers Auditorium on Oct. 1.

The band is in its sixth decade of performing and has sold more than 20 million albums with such radio hits as "Hold On Loosely," "Caught Up in You," "If I'd Been the One," "Back Where You Belong" and "Second Chance."

Last year, .38 Special released "Milestone," its first album of new music in more than 20 years.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster. An online-only presale starts at 10 a.m. Thursday with the password: HOLDON.

Actors sought for Ghost Walk

Auditions are scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kinsman House, 303 Mahoning Court, Warren, for the city's 40th annual Ghost Walk.

This year's walk is titled "Pioneers & Posterity," and roles that still need filled are one adult woman and three younger actors (preteens and/or teens). No acting experience is necessary.

Rehearsals start Thursday and Ghost Walk will run for two weekends in October. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, complimentary tickets and meals from local restaurants on show nights.
