Three Dog Night, theater veterans fill Westminster’s Celebrity Series

Three Dog Night will open Westminster College's 2026-27 Celebrity Series.
Original member Danny Hutton still leads the group. Between 1969 and 1975, Three Dog Night had 21 top 40 hits, including "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World," "Black and White," "Shambala," "An Old Fashioned Love Song" and "Eli's Coming."
The Sept. 26 concert at Orr Auditorium is the first of five attractions in the upcoming season.
Coming Oct. 13 is The Barricade Boys, a vocal quartet featuring British theater veterans who have appeared in such shows as "Les Misérables," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Wicked," "Billy Elliot" and "The Sound of Music." Its concerts mix Broadway favorites with pop, rock, swing and Motown classics.
Another vocal group featuring theater talent, Under the Streetlamp, will bring its Christmas show "Hip for the Holidays" on Dec. 12. The group features former cast members of the long-running Broadway hit "Jersey Boys," and the concert will include the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons as well as holiday favorites.
The first attraction of 2027 will be The StepCrew on March 6. Led by Irish dance star Cara Butler and acclaimed step dancers Jon and Nathan Pilatzke, the show combines Irish step dance, Ottawa Valley step dancing and tap into a high-energy theatrical performance featuring live music, vocals and choreography.
The season concludes April 24, 2027, with Live and Let Die: The Music of Paul McCartney. Tony Kishman, who played McCartney in "Beatlemania," performs songs spanning his career, from the Beatles to Wings to his solo work, in a multimedia production.
All performances start at 7:30 p.m. at Orr Auditorium, Westminster Drive, New Wilmington, Pa.
Season tickets good for all five events range from $164 to $210 (depending upon seat location) for adults and $159 to $205 for senior citizens and can be ordered by calling 724-946-7354. Single tickets are available online at www.westminster.edu/celebrity and by phone.
