Rock 'n' roll oldies and marches will share the program for the final outdoor concert by the full W.D. Packard Concert Band for 2026.
On the rock side, the program conducted by Galen S. Karriker will include "Rock, Roll and Remember," a musical salute to "American Bandstand" host Dick Clark; medleys featuring the music of The Mammas & the Papas and The Beach Boys; and a Paul Murtha arrangement of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
The marches will include Henry Fillmore's "The Footlifter" and "Rolling Thunder" and Robert Hosay's "Black Granite" and Packard Band favorite "The Stars & Stripes Forever" by John Philip Sousa.
Other selections will include Jimmy Webb's "MacArthur Park," Brant Karrick's "See Rock City" and "NFL Films: Music of the Gridiron," arranged by Michael Brown.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. Sunday at the south lawn bandshell at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. The summer season concludes at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 when the Big Band Sound of Packard, led by Dan Carioti, will be joined by vocalist Helen Welch.
Admission for both events is free, and funding is provided by the W.D. Packard trust.
