A teen production of “She Kills Monsters” is the next offering in the Straw Hat Theatre summer season.
Qui Nguyen’s play is the story of a young woman who is leaving her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When she finds Tilly’s “Dungeons & Dragons” notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the fantasy world that was her sister’s refuge.
Homicidal fairies, nasty ogres and ’90s pop culture abound in a dramatic comedy that pays homage to the geek and warrior within.
Bob Kilpatrick directs the production, and the cast includes Molly Wilson, Aubrey Sudo, Loralei Bartunek and Eva Pfeifer.
