The Rust Belt Theater Company brings its 14th edition of “Forbidden Youngstown” to Youngstown Playhouse this weekend.

This bawdy, irreverent musical revue is a spoof of theater culture and the city of Youngstown that Rust Belt calls home. It pokes fun at classic musical theater tropes and stereotypes while paying homage to some of the most popular musicals of all time.

The show is updated annually, and new for 2026 is a parody of “Cell Block Tango” from “Chicago” called “Six Wives Mahoning County.”

Youngstown-centric Rust Belt originals include “397 Miles Off Broadway,” “A Pretty Nice Place To Live,” “I Bet Things Are Beautiful in Youngstown Ohio” and “Youngstown Famous.”

Robert Dennick Joki directs the revue and appears in the cast with Lisa Torrence, PK Lankford, Haley Comet, Rachel Myers, Rachael Kerr, Caitlyn Murphy, Vicci Sfikas, Caitlin Cole, Charity Pickup and Jennifer Koprivnak.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Moyer Room at Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 330-507-2358.
