ACTS Performing Arts Center will have auditions in August for three fall productions.
The community theater is seeking vocalists for ACTS Sings! Duos & Duets. Singers should audition in pairs and prepare 32 bars of a song of their choosing.
The songs sung in auditions will not be included in the show automatically but will be considered by director Justin Ray and assistant Roxanne Chapman
Auditions are scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 and 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12, and the cabaret show will be presented on the 40 Below stage Sept. 25 to 27.
Auditions for "The Edgar Allan Poe Radio Show" by Patrick Greene and Jason Pizzarello, directed by Maria Petrella-Ackley, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11.
The play calls for a diverse cast of seven to 10 performers ages 18 and older with some playing multiple roles.
Those auditioning are encouraged to bring an excerpt from a favorite Poe poem or short story to read or they can recite from the script.
It will be staged for two weekends starting Oct. 30 on the 40 Below stage.
"The Edgar Allan Poe Radio Show" will be presented on October 30 and 31, and November 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m. and November 1 and 8 at 2:30 p.m. on ACTS 40 Below stage.
Auditions for the holiday musical "White Christmas" are scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 23 and 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 25.
Interested performers should prepare 32 bars of their favorite upbeat Christmas song and bring sheet music for the accompanist.
The audition will also include dancing (bring appropriate footwear) and a cold read from the script for anyone who is interested in a principal role. The large cast includes roles for adults and children ages 10 and older.
It will open Dec. 4 and run for two weekends.
