Fairy tales meet real life in “Once Upon a Time …,” a comedy variety show staged by The Stage Left Silver Players.

Set in the imaginative Magic Kingdom Retirement Community, the show follows princes, kings and princesses as they spend their days at the Royal Park and Work Out Center and their evenings unwinding at the Royal Tiki Bar.

Through a series of comedic sketches and musical numbers, the cast explores the everyday realities of aging, from wrestling with technology to aching knees and the ever-present question, “Where did I put my glasses?”

Directed by Kandace Cleland and Jodine Pilmer, the show features such songs as “Young at Heart,” “Once Upon a Time” and “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena.”

The production features a cast of performers who all are ages 55 and older — Ruth Newman, Mary Ann Bacon, Jo Barto, Suzie Famiglietti, Teresa Gilmore, Kari Lankford, Gloria Mathews, Robin Tener, Lori DiRocco, Betsy Williams, Lynne Peterson, Barb Wright, Jackie Harris, Chris Lydic, Mark Frost, Ron Altomare, Eric Kibler, Stephen May, Mike Moss, Chuck Simon and Greg Smith.

“Once Upon a Time …” will be staged at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for students and senior citizens and are available online at stageleftplayers.org.

Starting at $3.23/week.
