Watercolor society members’ work goes on display at Weller Gallery

Members of the Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society will display their work in an exhibition opening Saturday at Fellows Riverside Gardens’ Weller Gallery.

“Wonders of Northeast Ohio: A Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society Water Media Show” features paintings by 20 member artists using watercolor techniques to celebrate the landscapes of Northeast Ohio. Artwork will highlight scenes from Mill Creek MetroParks as well as backyards, wooded areas, open fields and waterways.

Participating artists are Lynne Rosati, Sue Anzellotti-Ray, Susan Blake, Carole Damschroder, Jody Nudell, Noreen Yazvac, Millie Hawkins, Edward Jones, Elizabeth Ford, John Schlabaugh, Shari Fry, Brenda Cohen, Cynthia Sayhoun, Beth Basista, Sue Dryburgh, Linda Mohn, Elayne Bozick, Alison Gregg, John Burkard, Thomas Harwood and Darlene Morris.

Eleven local watercolorists founded the Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society in 1982 to encourage beginning and experienced artists to share their work, explore new techniques and continue creating.

“Wonders of Northeast Ohio” will be on display through June 21 at the gallery, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown. A meet-the-artist reception is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
