Bugs infest Warren library for Family Book Day

“Bugging Out for Books” is the theme of Family Book Day from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.

There will be crafts, games and gaming along with a variety of free activities with PBS Western Reserve and with Central State Extension taking place throughout the day. Children and teens from newborns to 18 who attend can receive one free new book to keep.

Dr. Insecta’s Incredible Unforgettable Bug Lab Experience will showcase some of the largest insects in the world at 12:30 p.m. The live insects will include Rhonda, the Hissing Cockroach; Darth Vega, the giant 8-inch Scorpion; and the star of the show, Morticia, a lovable Mexican Painted Leg Tarantula.

From 1 to 3 p.m., children can meet Spider-Man and Ladybug Girl from “Heroes and Tiaras” costumed characters, and a puppet show is planned at 2:15 p.m.

Admission is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
