Lit Youngstown presents reading at Westside Bowl

Vince Guerrieri and Daphne Carr will be featured at Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Reader Series event.

The Cleveland-based Guerrieri has been a writer for all of his professional life. The Bowling Green State University graduate has written for newspapers in major cities, online news sources, regional publications and public relations/speech writing.

His books include “Weird Moments in Cleveland Sports,” “The Blue Streaks and Little Giants: More Than a Century of Sandusky and Fremont Ross Football” and contributions to “Car Bombs to Cookie Tables: The Youngstown Anthology.”

Carr, who lives in Youngstown, is an intersectional queer feminist organizer, teacher, editor and, above all, listener. She is a scholar and writer on music, politics and culture.

She is the author of a book on Nine Inch Nails’ “Pretty Hate Machine” album as part of Continuum’s 33 1/3 book series, and her work has been included in several “Best Music Writing” anthologies.

It will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, in its Trophy Room, which is accessible only by stairs.

Admission is free, and ASL interpretation will be provided.

Starting at $3.23/week.
