Penguin City hosts ‘SLAVidays’

Simply Slavic will get into the holiday spirit with “Home for the SLAVidays” on Friday at Penguin City Brewing Company.

The evening will be filled with Slavic holiday traditions with music by the Chardon Polka Band, a visit from Cleveland Krampus and photos with St. Nicholas, a kolachi contest featuring local bakers, an enchanted Slavic Christmas Forest, Oplatek (Christmas wafer) sharing and a Christmas market.

Slavic foods will be available from Babcia’s Lunchbox, Steel City Chimneys and The Pierogi Lady. Krupnik martinis will be sold with proceeds benefiting the Simply Slavic Scholarship Fund.

A Christmas Eve Dinner Box from Krakus Polish Deli & Bakery, filled with delicious traditional items to serve a family of four, will be raffled off.

“Home for the SLAVidays” runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at Penguin City, 460 E. Federal St., Youngstown. Admission is $15 with children ages 12 and younger admitted free. For more information, go to www.simplyslavic.org.
