Sinister Fest features horror films, vendors

Things get sinister at Skyway Drive-In to start October.

The third Sinister Fest runs Friday and Saturday with more than 30 Halloween and horror-themed vendors. The event was started by Justin Haines, owner of Dead Ink Apparel, to celebrate the spooky season.

The movie lineup includes a mix of studio releases and low-budget, independent horror fare.

Friday’s lineup includes “The Devil’s Rejects,” “Rob Zombie’s Halloween” and the original “Night of the Living Dead” on screen one and “Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil,” “Army of Darkness” and “Trivial” on screen two.

Saturday’s films are “The Craft,” “Thirteen Ghosts” and “The Cellar” on screen one and “Pumpkinhead,” “Halloween 3: Season of the Witch” and “Slasher Nurse” on screen two.

The featured guest will be Lew Temple, who appears in two of the films showing this weekend, “The Devil’s Rejects” and “Rob Zombie’s Halloween,” but his extensive resume also includes “The Walking Dead,” “Rango,” “Waitress,” “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.”

Admission is free from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and will include free laser tag, a bounce house, free pumpkin carving, costume contests, trunk decorating contest and trick or treat. Vendors will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.

General admission for the movies will be $10 each day.
