Psychedelic art displayed in Warren

The Psych on Park exhibition opens Saturday at Art on Park to coincide with the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County’s Matter of FACT fundraiser.

Artists were invited to submit works that explore the psyche, mind manifesting and / or psychedelic experiences. All mediums were accepted for the non-juried show, which was free to enter.

Participating artists include: CJ Brooks, Rachel Clifford, Ani Mastrey, Jumari Lyons, Sara Lee Rose, Royce Umberger, Ashley Kellar, Jeffrey Puccini, Julie Pantelas, Apryle Elizabeth, Mia Mondora, Max Scabilloni, Rick Maro, Daniel Hardy, Jessica Mackey, Beth Carson, Marianna Larew, James Shuttic and Dovey Wuvey, who also curated the exhibition.

An opening reception is planned 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Art on Park, 180 N. Park Ave., Warren. The reception is free and will feature music by DJ Boula (C Zakharia) and DJ Teddy Eisenberg, from the Arabic Radio Program (Cleveland, WCSB 89.3 FM). They will spin funky and meditative psychedelic era grooves from the Arab world and the Middle East.

The Matter of FACT fundraiser runs 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Modern Methods Brewing Company, 125 David Grohl Alley, Warren, and the Darlene Lounge. The evening will include live music, local food, an art auction and live painting, and it will coincide with the Psych on Park art show at the Art on Park Gallery.

Those attending are encouraged to wear their most psychedelic and colorful attire.
