Frankie Valli announced for Powers Auditorium
The real “Jersey Boy” is coming Aug. 1 to Youngstown.
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are coming to Powers Auditorium as part of “The Last Encores” tour. The date will coincide with the opening of the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest downtown.
The 91-year-old Valli had dozens of hits as the lead voice of the Four Seasons (“Sherry,” “Walk Like A Man,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Rag Doll,” “December ’63 – Oh What A Night”), as well as solo hits such as “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “My Eyes Adored You” and “Grease” from the movie of the same name.
The musical “Jersey Boys” about the Four Seasons won four Tony Awards, including best musical, and has been seen by more than 18 million people since its debut 20 years ago on Broadway.
Valli, whose acting roles included a recurring part on HBO’s “The Sopranos,” received a lifetime achievement Grammy earlier this year.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $59 to $149 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday exclusively through Ticketmaster. An online-only presale runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday with the password: SHERRY.
