Lit Youngstown reading features poets
Two poets will be the featured readers for the next Lit Youngstown First Wednesday Reader Series event.
David B. Prather of Parkersburg, W.Va., is the author of three poetry collections — “We Were Birds” (Main Street Rag, 2019), “Shouting at an Empty House” (Sheila-Na-Gig Editions, 2023), and “Bending Light with Bare Hands” (Fernwood Press, 2024).
His work has appeared in many publications, including New Ohio Review, Prairie Schooner and The Comstock Review.
Jon Graham was born in Martins Ferry, and grew up in Ohio’s Appalachian coal country. He is a retired emergency physician and farmer. He has published two books — “Everything Waits” in 2023 and “The Sky Was Always Underground: A Lyric Memoir of Appalachia” in 2024.
The program starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, in the Trophy Room, which is accessible only by stairs. ASL interpretation will be provided by Meagan Albani.
