First Fridays celebrates YSU grads

Celebrating Youngstown State University’s graduates is the theme of this month’s First Fridays Youngstown. A vendors market will be at the Phelps Street Gateway downtown from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Entertainment will be provided by the funk-influenced indie band Late Night Drive, and the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre will kick off its Premier Bank Community Event Series with the band RDNA at 8 p.m.

Coinciding with First Fridays Youngstown is the opening of “Antiquity,” a print exhibition by Malorie Martin at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. The show is inspired by the ancient world, and explores how across centuries, continents and cultures, artists continue to be inspired in many of the same ways.

The opening reception is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and the work can be viewed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through May 30.

Starting at $3.23/week.
