Mann sings Bennett for Celebrity Series
Singer Chris Mann will perform the music of Tony Bennett as part of Westminster College’s 2024-25 Celebrity Series.
Mann finished fourth on season two of NBC’s “The Voice” and was seen by more than 37 million viewers when an episode of the reality competition series followed Super Bowl XLVI in 2012.
Mann was personally cast by Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber as The Phantom in “The Phantom of the Opera”‘s 25th anniversary tour in 2015. For two years he donned the iconic mask for more than 700 shows. During his career, he has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra for U.S. President Barack Obama, headlined at The John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and sang in New York City’s famed Christmas in Rockefeller Center concert. He also starred in his own symphony tour across the United States.
His debut album, “Roads,” topped Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and also appeared on the Billboard Top 200 and iTunes charts.
For “Bennett: From Gershwin to Gaga,” Mann will perform a mix of jazz, pop, parody and Broadway hits with original arrangements.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Westminster’s Orr Auditorium. Tickets range from $33 to $42 and are available online at www.westminster.edu/celebrity and by calling 724-946-7354.
