Immigrants series spotlights Yemen at August series event

Yemen will be the focus of the Mahoning Valley Cultural Alliance's next Stories of Mahoning Valley Immigrants series event.

Speaking at the event will be Dr. Rashid Abdu, a native of Yemen and retired surgeon,and professional Middle Eastern belly dancer Heather Abrams will perform.

The event is scheduled at 5 p.m. Aug. 5 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield, which will prepare the meal. Tickets are $35 for Mahoning Valley Historical Society members and $40 for non-members. Reservations are due by July 30 and can be made by calling 330-743-2589.
