Diamond Rio bringing hits to Packard
WARREN — Country act Diamond Rio will play Packard Music Hall on Sept. 20.
Diamond Rio was one of the most successful country acts of the 1990s, with 20 singles hitting the top 20 on the Billboard country chart, including two No. 1s — “Meet Me in the Middle” and “How Your Love Makes Me Feel.” Its success continued into the 2000s with three more chart toppers — “One More Day,” “Beautiful Mess” and “I Believe.”
Diamond Rio won four CMA Awards for group of the year, two ACMs for top vocal group and a Grammy Award for best southern, country or bluegrass gospel album.
Dan Truman, piano; Marty Roe, lead vocals; Jimmy Olander, guitar and banjo, and Dana Williams, bass and vocals, have been with the group since its debut album and are joined in the current lineup by Carson McKee, fiddle and harmony vocals, and Micah Schweinsberg, drums.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $35 to $75 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster. An online-only presale runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday with the password PACKARD.
