CityVerse students do reading at Stambaugh
Participants in CityVerse: a Youth Poetry Showcase will do a reading at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Stambaugh Auditorium’s Christman Hall, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
Students from East High School, Chaney High School and Youngstown Rayen Early College High School had the opportunity to participate in six writing workshops with poets Quartez Harris, Shaunda Yancey and Barbar Fant. At Tuesday’s event, a panel of community judges will award five of the students $100 cash prizes, and one will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Admission is free. CityVerse is a partnership between Lit Youngstown and Youngstown City Schools.
