Westminster College to present Brass Extravaganza on Saturday

Noted jazz musician John Raymond, associate professor of jazz studies/trumpet at Indiana University-Bloomington, will be part of Westminster College’s Brass Extravaganza on Saturday.

The event will include a master class with Elizabeth Freimuth, principal french horn with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, at 10:45 a.m., a concert by the Westminster College Faculty Brass Quintet at 1 p.m., Raymond’s master class at 2 p.m. and a recital at 3 p.m. with Raymond accompanied by pianist Jeffrey Wachter, bassist Jeff Bremer and drummer Steve Marks.

Brass musicians of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in the day’s offerings. Admission to all performances is free and open to the public. To register and for more information, go to www.westminster.edu/music.
