Adult Halloween festivities planned for the Valley

Gray Areas

Assorted ramblings from the world of entertainment:

• Both Youngstown and Warren have bar crawls Saturday for those whose Halloween joy can’t be contained to a single location.

This is the sixth annual Halloween Bar Crawl in Youngstown. It runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday with check-in from 4 to 6 p.m. at Penguin City Brewing Company.

Participating stops on the crawl include Circle Hookah and Bar, Dope Cider House and Winery, Gringo’s, Imbibe Martini Bar, Noble Creature Cask House, Ryes Craft Beer & Whiskey and Whistle and Keg.

Ryes also will host an afterparty from 10 p.m. to midnight.

Tickets are $25 or $20 each for groups of four or more and can be purchased through Friday through Eventbrite.

Tickets include an entry into the costume contest with a $1,000 grand prize, two to three drink / shot tickets, a stadium cup and bottle opener lanyard for the first 400 in attendance. Drink specials at the participating venues, food specials at partner venues and waived cover fees at the establishments that have one are also included.

In Warren the 2nd Dub City Halloween Bar Loop runs from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

Two free shuttle buses will make a loop hauling revelers to seven downtown area locations — The Underground Lounge, Sons of Italy 2850, Urban Tap, Downtown 124, Modern Methods / Darlene Lounge, West & Main and Bushwick.

l Pianist Jim Brickman will be bringing his “A Joyful Christmas” Holiday Show to Youngstown on Dec. 1 for a performance at DeYor Performing Arts Center’s Ford Family Recital Hall.

Brickman will offer a sneak peak of this year’s show with a Facebook Live event at 8 p.m. today at his Jim Brickman Music page.

Joining him for the sneak peak and select dates on the tour will be Chrissy Metz, who played Kate Pearson on the NBC series “This Is Us.” Unfortunately, Youngstown isn’t one of the cities where Metz will be appearing, but she will part of the Cleveland shows on Dec. 16 and 17 at Playhouse Square’s Hanna Theatre.

Brickman, a Cleveland native, has sold 10 million albums worldwide, is a two-time Grammy nominee and a winner of a Dove Award and a Canadian Country Music Award. He also is a member of Pandora’s “2 Billion Streams” club.

• An edited version of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s annual induction ceremony has been shown on HBO for years, usually a month or two after the actual event.

This year fans with Disney+ won’t have to watch cellphone videos posted on YouTube to see highlights.

The streaming service will carry this year’s ceremony live on Nov. 3. Coverage from Brooklyn’s Barclay Center will begin at 8 pm. Plan on having plenty of snacks and beverages on hand. The unedited event often clocks in between four and five hours.

According to the Rock Hall, new inductees Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Chaka Kahn are scheduled to perform, and special guests will include Brandi Carlile, Dave Matthews, Elton John, H.E.R., Chris Stapleton, St. Vincent and New Edition with more to be announced.

And for those thinking about a roadtrip to Brooklyn, there are a couple thousand tickets still available for purchase, at least half of which are selling for less than $100 (before the fees).
