The work of John Guy Petruzzi will be featured in an exhibition opening Sunday at Mill Creek MetroParks’ Weller Gallery inside the Ford Nature Center.

Petruzzi is a Youngstown-born artist and educator who earned his bachelor’s degree in painting from Youngstown State University in 2008 and his master’s degree in painting from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston in 2011. His lifelong interest in birds and biodiversity is reflected in his watercolor-based work, which has been published in numerous outlets. His paintings have also been widely exhibited and are held in private collections around the world.

He resides in Canfield and teaches painting, drawing and design courses at YSU and Westminster College. The exhibition “Field Marks” will be on display through Oct. 1. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and admission is free.
