O’Jays’ ‘Love Train’ plays Youngstown on final run

YOUNGSTOWN -- The O'Jays will play the Covelli Centre on Aug. 16 on what is being billed as its final tour.

The vocal group, which got its start in Canton, still features two of its three original members, Eddie Levert and Walter Lee Williams, joined by Eric Nolan Grant.

Its R&B and pop hits include "Love Train," "For the Love of Money," "Back Stabbers," "Now That We Found Love" and "Use ta Be My Girl," and The O'Jays' music influenced such artists as Erykah Badu, Drake, Angie Stone and EPMD.

The group has 10 gold and nine platinum albums in a career spanning more than 60 years.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $45 to $125 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Southwoods Health box office and through Ticketmaster. An online-only presale runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday with the password: LOVETRAIN.
