Lit Youngstown announces first 2023 event

Debra Derrenbacher and Joy Mistovich will be the featured writers at Lit Youngstown’s first reading event of 2023.

Derrenbacher, who lives in Sharpsville, Pa., is a retired Christian education director who is starting her second career as an author and artist. She illustrates her books and loves to work with alcohol inks and zen doodle.

Mistovich of Youngstown is the education department assistant and the digital UX accessibility specialist at the Butler Institute of American Art. She is deeply passionate about assistive technology and accessibility and writing about complex topics, such as disability.

The reading starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St., Youngstown, and will be be followed by an open mic co-hosted by Rebecca Banks. Admission is free, and funding for the First Wednesday Reader Series is provided by the Nathalie & James Andrews Foundation.
