Warren native Sean Jones will play with the Stephen Philip Harvey Jazz Orchestra for its album release show at Westside Bowl.

Jones, who is on the cover of this month’s Downbeat magazine, is an acclaimed trumpet player. Since graduating from Warren G. Harding High School and Youngstown State University, Jones has played lead trumpet for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, directed by Wynton Marsalis, and released several albums on Mack Avenue Records.

Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter — who all worked with Miles Davis — selected Jones to play trumpet on their “A Tribute to Miles” tour.

Saturday’s show celebrates the release of “Smash!,” featuring original songs by Harvey inspired by his love of superheroes.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and are available through Eventbrite.
