Dana Brass Ensembles perform at church
YOUNGSTOWN –The Dana Chamber Brass Ensembles will perform 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave.
The repertoire includes Fanfare from “La Peri” by Paul Dukas, “Fancies, Toyes and Dreames” by Giles Farnaby, “Killer Tango” by Sonny Kompanek, “Scherzo” by John Cheetham, “Gravity” by Anthony Barfield and “Central Park Morning” by David Chesky.
“West Side Story Suite” by Leonard Bernstein will feature Zach Jordan, trumpet; Alfred Todd, trumpet; Theresa Stolpa, horn; Daniel Chandra, trombone and Bruce Deal, tuba.
“Four Movements for Five Brass” by Collier Jones will be performed by Maria Mangine, trumpet; Nick Mattiussi, trumpet; Katie Berlin, horn; Kyle Zimmerman, trombone; and Connor Remington, tuba.
“Frost Fire” by Eric Ewazen will be played by Ryan Bowden, trumpet; Darren Thompson, trumpet; Severino Paredes, horn; Brandon Hackimer, trombone; and Zak Rahal, bass trombone.
The ensembles are directed by Andrew Mitchell. Admission is free.
