Author booked for McGuffey lecture
Youngstown native Jackie Marino will talk about her book “Car Bombs and Cookie Tables” as part of William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society’s Memories of a Lifetime lecture series.
Marino’s work has appeared in Cleveland Magazine, The Plain Dealer, The Christian Science Monitor, Parents.com, The Washington Post and Philadelphia Magazine. She is a professor at Kent State University School of Media and Journalism.
The program starts at 10 a.m. April 17 at Kravitz’s Deli Meeting Room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Admission is $5 for member and $6 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 330-726-8277.
