Poets Darlene Montonaro and David Swerdlow will be the guests in Lit Youngstown’s next First Wednesday Readers Series.

Montonaro’s poetry has appeared in a number of literary magazines including Calyx, Slipstream, Earth’s Daughters, Blueline and The Comstock Review. The Cleveland writer served for 12 years as the director of the Poets’ & Writers’ League, and in 2016 she was awarded a creative workforce fellowship from Community Partnership for Arts and Culture.

Poems by Swerdlow have appeared in American Poetry Review, Poetry and The Iowa Review. He’s published two books of poetry, “Bodies on Earth” (2010) and “Small Holes in the Universe” (2003). His first novel, “Television Man,” was released in 2019.

Swerdlow lives in New Wilmington, Pa., and teaches at Westminster College.

The reading starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday and can be viewed on Lit Youngstown’s Facebook page. Those interested in participating in the open mic afterward or watching via Zoom can register at lityoungstown.org.
