Program to be on pre-made housing
Preservation of the nation’s first pre-fabricated industrial workers’ planned community is the topic of the next William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society program.
Tim Sokoloff, a Struthers native, will discuss his efforts to preserve the pre-casted concrete historic housing complex built in 1917 in Campbell to house employees of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company.
The program starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at Kravitz’s Deli Meeting Room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Admission is $5 for members and $6 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 330-726-8277.
