Lit Youngstown gets program grant

YOUNGSTOWN — Lit Youngstown received a $5,615 grant from the The Youngstown Foundation Charles W. Darling Family Endowment Fund.

The money will support programs in 2020-21, including the First Wednesday Readers Series, monthly Teen Writers Workshops, adult-teen creative writing classes and a paid student internship to provide staff support for the Fall Literary Festival.

Lit Youngstown is a nonprofit dedicated to the literary arts, with programming for writers, readers and storytellers. Its Fall Literary Festival in September will host New Jersey children’s writer Janet Wong, Virginia poet Cynthia Atkins and Akron creative nonfiction writer David Giffels. Hundreds of writers and readers from the region attend the annual event that features readings, craft talks, panel discussions and a book fair.
