Charles and Gail Holquist

Charles and Gail Ann Holquist, of New Middletown, held a 70th anniversary celebration on Aug. 30, 2025, at Welker Park in New Middletown, hosted by the couple’s three children.

Charles Holquist and the former Gail Ann Osborne were united in matrimony on Sept. 10, 1955, at Chapel of Friendly Bells Church in Youngstown.

A Korean War veteran, Charles served from 1953 to 1955. He retired as a supervisor from U.S. Steel — Ohio Works in Youngstown, in 1981. Gail retired from Wonder Bakery in Youngstown.

The couple have been members of the Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown for many years.

They have three children, Debra L. Huelsman of Wellington, Wanda Beraduce of Petersburg, and Robert C. of Fountain, Colorado. They also have seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
