Richard and Dorothy Kyle of Canfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a weekend trip to the Smoky Mountains with their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Kyle and the former Dorothy Schell were married Oct. 13, 1973, at St. Edward Church in Youngstown.
Richard is a U.S. Army veteran who retired from driving for Leaseway Transportation in Lordstown after 37 years of service. He later worked for Enterprise.
Mrs. Kyle was employed at General Electric early in their marriage, and then retired from working as a physical therapy aide at several area nursing homes for 25 years.
They have three children, Melinda (Mark) of Aurora, and Jason and Adam (Andrea) of Canfield. In addition, they have four grandchildren.
The couple are active parishioners of St. Christine Church who love traveling, gardening, cooking and spending time with family.
