Robert "Chief" and Kathy Carlson of Newton Falls celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sept. 8, 2023. They were the honored couple of a surprise anniversary celebration with friends and family on July 1, 2023, at Halliday's Winery in Pricetown.
Bob and the former Kathy Crandell met at Lake Milton, and were united in marriage at a wedding ceremony on Sept. 8, 1973, at Pricetown United Methodist
Church.
Bob served with the Newton Falls Police Department for 37 years and taught at regional police academies for many years.
Kathy worked for the Newton Falls Post Office for more than 30 years.
The couple have two children: James and Terri (Eric) Trebilcock. They also have two grandchildren.
Bob and Kathy enjoy traveling, motorcycle riding, visiting and watching their grandsons play sports in Colorado, and spending time with their friends and family.
