CAMPBELL — Porfirio “Fiyo” Esparra and the former Eufemia “Nin” Vazquez celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at a special Mass Jan. 14 officiated by the Rev. Matthew Zwilling at Christ the Good Shepherd.

The couple were married Jan. 9, 1953, at the original St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell.

They have been blessed with 10 children, Rosa, Porfirio Jr., Leticia, Diana, Elsa, Reynaldo, Lydia, Minerva, Anabel and Lilian; 34 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Fiyo is a former musician, a Korean war veteran and retiree of Youngstown Sheet and Tube.

Nin retired from The Ohio State University Mahoning County Extension Service after 25 years of a distinguished career.

Both were active members of the community and the former St. Rosa de Lima church.
