Day 50th anniversary

Robert C. and Karen A. Day of Berlin Center celebrated their 50th anniversary at a special Mass on Aug. 27, 2022, when they renewed their wedding vows at St. Paul's Monastery Chapel in Canfield. The Rev. Matthew Roehrig offiated. A reception followed, hosted by the couple for 75 family and friends, at the Youngstown Country Club.

Robert and the former Karen Bacha were united in marriage on Aug. 26, 1972, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Youngstown. The Rev. Vincent Lisi was celebrant.

The couple have five children: Ryan (Susan) Day of Cortland, Kerry Ann (Jeffrey) Betross of Berlin Center, Eric (Kaitlin) Day of Lothian, Md., Adam (Julie) Day of Salem and Megan Day (fiance Robert Barney) of Diamond. They also have eight grandchildren.

Karen was a registered nurse for 44 years, working at Northside Hospital in various positions for 30 years. She worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Jay Osborne, MD, Inc., in North Jackson, and taught at Kent State University at Trumbull as an assistant professor of nursing, retiring in 2015.

Robert retired as industrial arts teacher and department head at Boardman High School, after 44 years in teaching.

Robert and Karen are members of Our Lady of the Lakes, St. James Parish, North Jackson. They are both 4-H advisers with Western Reserve Rangers 4-H Club in Berlin Center and of Mahoning County 4-H Advisory and Project Committees.

They enjoy traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
