DiOrio 60th

Richard and Phyllis DiOrio of Canfield celebrated their 60th anniversary with their family at Aqua Pazzo.

Richard and the former Phyllis Houser were married Oct. 8, 1960, at St. Brendan’s in Youngstown, with a breakfast, lunch and reception dinner, and dancing for their guests.

Richard was in the U.S. Army Reserve and trained in Fort Knox. He was a tool-and-die tradesman, went to General Motors Corp. and worked as a cost estimator at Buick, Olds, Cadillac in Lordstown. He spent his career at GM.

Phyllis was and is a dedicated homemaker and mother.

They built a cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania, where they and their family spend lots of time riding dirt bikes and hiking. Today, they enjoy the local parks and restaurants.

Richard was a member of Eastern Ohio Conservation Club for many years and is an avid sportsman. They both enjoy listening to music. Phyllis enjoys country music, reading and takes a walk every day.

They love spending time with their two daughters, Laura (Richard) Blanco of Canfield and Julie (Michael, deceased) Anderson of Hermitage, and four grandchildren.

The couple are members of St. Michael Catholic Church in Canfield.
