Valerie Montecalvo of Warren and Douglas Stone of Palm Beach, Fla., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lauren Stone, to Daniel Shobel. Mr. Shobel is the son of Mary Beth Shobel of Boardman and Darrell Shobel of Canfield.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. She is a registered dental hygienist and regional director for The Primary Health Network in Sharon, Pa.

Mr. Shobel also is a graduate of YSU, with a doctorate in physical therapy. He is a physical therapist for Ohio Sports and Spine Institute in Boardman.

The couple will be united in marriage during a wedding ceremony to take place in November at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and a reception to follow at The Grand Resort in Warren.
