Thief on cross stole Christ’s heart
My Sentiments Exactly
There once was a man named the Christ
Who brought to this earth peace and light.
And redemption of sin
He was there, thick and thin!
To give mankind some real great insight…
On just what it means to forgive
And how it’d be best if we lived
Showing kindness to all
Whether humongous or small
For one’s size is not what gives him might.
No, the thing that does matter most
Says the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost
Is to learn to love everyone here on this earth
With a warmth and compassion to boast!
Oh, yes, Jesus has taught us the way
To forgive, to endure and to pray
And to shout from on high
That our God is our pride
And our joy and our life and our way.
Though His time on this earth was but brief
And we all put God-Man through His grief
By the sins we commit when deciding to quit
Loving others in a way that won’t cease.
Jesus gave us His all on that day
When the noon hour turned dark and grey
And a thief stole Christ’s heart,
As He begged Him to start
To forgive each their part though sadly our God had to pay…
Yes, that robber did steal our Lord’s heart,
Which is why we should all do our part
To forgive what we should and live life for the good
And to walk in the light not the dark.
As you’re slicing your turkey or ham
Please remember the sacrificial lamb.
And bow down just to pray on this most blessed day
When God gave redemption to man.
Happy Easter and Blessed Passover to all!
