Plant and Pest Clinic
You can submit your questions by calling the Mahoning County office at 330-533-5538 or emailing us at mahoningclinic@osu.edu. Please attach photos and add any information that would help research your plant and pest questions. The clinic is open April through October, Monday and Thursday 9 a.m. to noon. Walk-ins are welcome.
Volunteer Open House
WHAT: The Trumbull County Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting an open house where interested gardeners can learn more about the Master Gardener Volunteer (MGV) program and how to get involved.
This is a great opportunity to meet volunteers and OSU Extension staff, learn about the program, explore volunteer opportunities and determine whether the MGV program is the right fit for you.
Master Gardener Volunteers support the community through educational programs and events, the horticulture help desk, the Research, Education and Demonstration Garden, and other outreach and volunteer opportunities throughout the county.

Master Gardener Volunteer training
WHAT: Gardeners accepted into the program receive 50 hours of training in vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs, soil, insects, diseases and more.
Once they become certified Master Gardener Volunteers, they will be given the opportunity to share their gardening knowledge with others by answering questions, collaborating on service projects and presenting programs.
Classes are offered as a hybrid program, requiring both online and in-person training sessions.
WHEN: Applications will be accepted now through Dec. 4, with classes scheduled to begin in January.

All About the Fall Landscape
WHAT: Join OSU Extension Mahoning County, Boardman Park and the Mahoning Valley Landscape and Nursery Association to learn practical tips for preparing your lawn and landscape for fall and winter.
Participants will learn essential fall lawn care practices, which trees and shrubs can be pruned in fall, and other steps to keep their landscape healthy and attractive.

Plant with a Past -- History of Herbs
WHAT: From the ancient Egyptians and Romans to Indigenous traditions and early Americans, herbs have played an important role in daily life.
Blending historical facts with folklore and a touch of humor, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance of herbs and how their uses have evolved into the modern world.
